Around 33% of the brain is involved in analyzing visual information. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.scientificamerican.com\/frontiers-for-young-minds\/the-reading-brain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to professor and scientist Sabine Kastner<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the left hemisphere of the brain is largely responsible for reading and comprehension. The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">object cortex<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of our brains, located in this region, recognizes shape characteristics of what we see. When reading, the object cortex creates word banks based on physical characteristics of letters, words, and sentences.
